    COACH NETBALL

    • Coaching Pathway

      As per the Netball Australia Pathway there is a six-tier progression with each stage being accredited:

       

      Foundation course: The foundation coaching course is for beginner coaches, teachers, parents and NetSetGo coaches and outlines the introductory coaching information and basic netball techniques. The foundation coaching course is fully online and can be found through MyNetball.

       

      Development course: The development coaching course is for club, association and regional coaches and teachers aiming to further their netball knowledge. This course provides a good introduction to skill progression and fault detection with correction. This course can be partially done online through MyNetball, it also includes a self-assessment process for the practical coach component during the face to face workshop. Keep an eye out for the practical courses via the Hobart Netball and Sports Centre and Netball Tasmania Facebook pages.

      Intermediate course: The intermediate caching course is for those coaching Representative, Talent, Identification and State League level. This course extends the learning around skill progression in preparation for the practical component of the Advanced course.

      Advanced course: The advanced coaching course is for coaches of representative, Talent Identification and State League level. This course extends the learning around skill progression in preparation for the practical components of the course.

      Elite accreditation: The elite coaching accreditation is for those coaching at the highest level of State League, Deakin University Australian Netball League (DUANL) and Suncorp Super Netball (SSN), who are aspiring to be potential high performance coaches.

      High Performance accreditation: The high performance accreditation is targeted at the highest level of State League, Deakin University Australian Netball League (DUANL) and Suncorp Super Netball (SSN) coaches working at head coach capacity and have overall responsibility for the delivery of a netball program within a high-performance system.

      The intermediate, advanced, and elite are all face to face practical sessions. Keep an eye out for the practical courses via the Hobart Netball and Sports Centre and Netball Tasmania Facebook pages.
